Hector O. Torres, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and with over 30 years of experience, has been always interested in photography. It was not until he studied Business Administration at the University of Puerto Rico, for the first time when he really decided to pursue photography. Taking inspiration from such greats as Helmut Newton, Herb Ritts, Richard Avedon, Ralph Gibson, Herb Ritz, among others, began a productive and fulfilling career.
His ability to capture "the decisive moment" has framed major publishers in the country leading journals and has immortalized advertising campaigns local and international clients. As a personal observation, Hector uses photography as a tool to uncover the truth and beauty of all that exists, releasing the masks that bind society. Through his eyes we see the world with a little more clearly, and find the truth and beauty that we had not imagined existed. This belief in the social role of photography helped keep his work memorable.
Hector has done local and international work for corporate companies and advertising agencies. Among its clients are: People En Español, Telemundo, Univision, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, Bacardi, Coca-Cola, Texaco, McDonald's, L'Oreal, Cover Girl, Mazda, among others.
